Amanda Kight is an Associate and Senior Project Architect at Kraemer Design Group, where she manages the Toledo satellite office. She is a registered architect and qualified historic architect for the states of Ohio and Michigan. She has been working on historic tax credit projects for nearly thirteen years in both architectural and historic consulting roles. Amanda has worked on over a dozen adaptive reuse projects, with several of these projects involving connecting buildings. Notable projects include Fort Industry Square in Toledo, Ohio and Shinola Hotel in Detroit, Michigan.

The Re-Revitalization of Fort Industry Square

This session will be a case study of the recently completed redevelopment of Fort Industry Square in Toledo, Ohio. The project included the complete exterior and interior rehabilitation of ten historic buildings along a city block. Topics discussed in addition to the history of the site will be the masonry restoration, storefront replacement, reconstruction of a failed facade, code challenges, navigating unforeseen conditions, and challenges connecting multiple buildings on the interior.
