Project Coordinator for The Friends of the St. Marys Theater & Grand Opera House
Doug Spencer is the project coordinator for The Friends of the St. Marys Theater & Grand Opera House, Inc. Doug earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Education from Wright State University. After spending twelve years in the classroom, he successfully ran for Auglaize County Commissioner in 2006 and is currently serving his nineteenth year in that role. In 2021, Doug helped establish the non-profit organization to purchase the St. Marys Theater and revive the historic 1895 building.
This panel discussion will focus on the revitalization of historic theaters in smaller Ohio communities, including the St. Marys Theater and Grand Opera House in St. Marys, Shea's Theatre in Ashtabula, and the Fort Recovery Morvilius Opera House in Ft.
